One of the requirements for getting a stimulus payment is filing a 2007 return with at least $3000 in eligible income. Eligible income includes income from working, from social security, from railroad retirement, and from some VA benefits.

If you receive social security payments, you would file a 1040A in order to receive your stimulous payment. You're not filing for income tax purposes - just to be able to receive your stimulous check, which is perfectly fine. Just report what you receive on your 1099-SSA.
