My principal is retiring. What is a good song for our choir to sing at her retiring party?

retiring

What’s an appropriate song for this occasion? Preferably, we want a song more on the sad side.

“Old Friend” by Stephen Sondheim is sweet…lends itself well to part singing…

“For Good” from Wicked is absolutely amazing. It’s a great duet that my choir sings.

    School’s Out by Alice Cooper

Places I Remember by The Beatles is a classic

There is a choral arrangement by Jay Althouse called “May Our Paths Meet Again”. This is a great song, and our seniors sang it for our school’s graduation. If you were to go on jwpepper.com or alfredmusic.com I’m sure you could find the arrangement. It’s a short song, but it’s sweet and to the point. :)
