One of my friend's did this really cool photo idea. She found this site called. They make life sized removable adhesive photo stickers. She had a photo of her team made and gave it to the coach as a gift - now her coach has it displayed in her den with all her trophies and ribbons from all her years of coaching and can see her favorite team any time she wants. The best part is - the sticker is movable and doesn't tear or mess up your walls. Check it out here

Do this year's team.
Go through past yearbooks and find as many team members as you can (their parents or a relative probably live nearby and will be delighted to spread the word and supply addresses). Ask them to write notes of specific good memories that they have of that coach. Request a copy of a high school pic and a now pic. if possible. Put them in a notebook. She will LOVE and read and re-read that the rest of her life!

Oh, and the local newspaper archives. Somebody or somebody's mothers or grandmothers might be persuaded to go through the microfiche at the library! WHOOOOOEEEEEEE!

Pictures are a good thing ... This might sound stupid but I would blow up a team picture and write about what you like about the coach on the back and how you are going to miss her

You guys should put your money together and buy her a silver or gold running sneaker pendent necklace. They have them everywhere, and they're so cute! I saw it on a lifetime movie, the creepy coach who rizzapes the running girl gives her one...

but my uncle's jewelery store used to carry them, too.

EDIT: if that doesn't work out, get a collage of images that have been memorable and get them printed on a poster (Kinkos or Rite Aid does it for real cheap) then frame it (ten bucks at walmart, the frame) and you can get her one of those huge cards and all of you guys can sign it :D
