You’ve instructed us and guided us
To appreciate many new things.

You’ve taught us the mystery of history
And now our knowledge has wings;

That will carry us forward,
In our life for years to come.

The difference you’ve made
As Mentor won’t be undone.

Thank you Ms. ____ for your years of service and for being there when we needed you. We’ll miss you terribly.

Do Not Use:
You’re getting old, you’re getting slow,
Retire already! You gotta go!

Write a song instead. . . songs = poems + music. . . about how you like her teaching style, and what times in her class was the best, the funniest, the worst, ect. Basically try to do it about your experiences and how she made a lasting impression on you.

The best poem would come from the heart. It doesn’t have to be the most elaborate, but I am sure she would appreciate anyting you wrote from the heart.
