I am 29 and live in the UK and had a Stakeholder Pension up to last year. I moved jobs and this pension is now in limbo. I haven’t paid much into it and was wondering if I can actually get at this money and close the pension seen as how times are hard at the moment? Can anyone help?

There is nothing that you can do to get the money out - the rules on pensions of this nature are that the money must stay in there until you are 55 and then only 25% will be released as a tax free lump sum (subject to the total value you have in pensions are the time).
It would be different if you had an occupational scheme and had only worked for the company for a short period of time.
