At what age do you begin to get really serious about saving for retirement? Is social security in danger?

I know its something you can/should do at any age but at what age do you need to start getting really serious about planning for retirement? How do you decide on an amount to work towards?I mean obviously because today’s sufficient amount will not be sufficient by the time todays 20 year olds retire.

I don’t have an answer but a trick my dad mentioned was that every month he made payments for the car he purchased and then when it was paid off he kept making those monthly payments. And that went into savings. I guess little things like that. Things you don’t notice. And then boom $$$ there is your money.

Create a video blog
age- as soon as you get a job- as for social security, look up the term Ponzi Scheme and then compare to SS, I think you’ll have your answer then.

AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Every little bit you can put into a retirement fund will be helpful. Don’t ever go and touch it either (unless of a crisis). Remember, by the time you retire inflation will have made the initial value of your money significantly lower.

im 20 and I have just left university and have a job. I will start my saving for retirement then. You see how todays older people have been saving but still have nothing, so I have chosen a personal retirement plan not connected to my job - I know people who have had their retirement funds frozen when they’ve moved jobs - Not good. Save yourself you can only trust you! And save soon as not to leave it too late
