How and when do you get your Fleet Reserves paper after retiring from military?

    ask your commanding officer.

    You are in the Fleet Reserve from the time you retire until the 30 year mark. At 30 years you are placed on the Retired List.

    Shortly after TRANSFERRING TO THE FLEET RESERVE you should have received your papers. You should know you only RETIRE after you have completed a TOTAL of 30 years (I transferred to the FR 11/85 and received my Retirement Certificate 11/95). I would contact a local personnel office and ask them to check into your FR papers.
