Hi,

my father always financially supports my mum, but now they’re getting older. Father is retiring, and mum needs a health insurance for to get her physical checked. So which health insurance is she qualified to get?

If shes 65 or older she qualifies for Medicare. Otherwise you find and pay for an independent medical insurance plan.

If she has not worked at least 10 years at a job paying FICA / SS taxes she is not eligible for medicare.

You need to find a Health insurance broker that can help her sort through the options available. Some insurance companies do not issue coverage over age 65.

Try using yellowpages.com to search for health insurance brokers in her area.

Don’t call your auto and home agent they specialize in property and causality insurance. You need someone that specializes in health insurance.

A Broker represents multiple carriers and can help you sort through all the different insurance companies and plan options in her location.

She’ll have to go to a locall, independent agent, fill out applications, and they’ll tell her which she’s qualified for.

It’s going to depend heavily on her health history.
