I spent 6 years in the Navy and I now work in the security field as a Field Service Tech. My wife is wanting to move back to the DC area and I was looking at federal jobs. The thing is I have no clue what I should apply for. Everyone I talk to recommends to apply if your a veteran. She is also retired navy due to medical. We both get the points. I get 5 she gets 10.

I have physical security training from the navy and I also worked as an electronics tech on weapon systems. My wife has a office type background currently working the real estate industry.

So my question is if you were moving back to the DC area what jobs should we be looking for Federal wise and what kind of pay can you expect starting off? We are wanting to move in the next year and any advice would be great.

I just retired from Active service after working in a state transport corporation in Tamilnadu. I reached a Sr management position before retiring recently.I have an engineering degree and have done a couple of short term forein assignments.

I can afford to put aside upto 2 Lakhs to start a business.What would you suggest me to do after retirement.

I would preferably like to start a business or a consultancy. Suggest the opportunities available.Also what are the other jobs that are available for me.

I was born and raised in downtown Honolulu all my life until recently I moved to Fresno. Almost every person I met tells me how they wish they can trade places and me and didnt understand why I moved away from Hawaii.

Hawaii is VERY expensive, more expensive then NYC or any big cities because Hawaii’s pay is low compared to those cities. Traffic is horrendous! You hear stories of pedestrians being runned over weekly. Yes, the weather is nice, the beach is nice, and the food is good. The problem is that most people work SEVERAL jobs just to stay afloat and make ends meet. They dont have much of a chance to enjoy the beach as much as most people think. I rarely had time for the beach when I used to live there. Its all work, work, work.

The truth is Hawaii is divided by the rich Asians and Whites who recently retired and live comfortably and the vast majority who are working their ***** off to live in paradise.

I hope people realize that its not greener on the otherside.
