Work Choices For Retirees

Sunday, August 2nd, 2009
C. Mazza asked:

Isabel Moras, senior and co-author of “Income Ideas for Seniors”, announced today the release of the second edition of this book. According to the co-author: “We help and guide seniors with this publication, making retirees feel better about their future”. The book is a guide for seniors and baby-boomers thinking about retirement; this resource supplies the reader with listings and details of a wide variety of paid activities plus inspiring anecdotes from ordinary citizens so those seniors can take advantage of opportunities right away. “Income Ideas for Seniors” is intended to help retirees take steps to feel useful and be rewarded for what they want and can do. “Income Ideas for Seniors” has millions of retired men and women in mind and baby boomers that want to age actively, specially as medical advances allow them to live longer and healthier lives. A senior looking to retire soon said:” I may be looking for a quiet time after I leave my job at 65, but other folks, like my wife, do not want to do so, she is looking to continue with her present employer or explore other possibilities.” To this end, “Income Ideas for Seniors” has a self assessment section to focus seniors on their interests and capabilities. As medical advances have effectively extended life expectance letting seniors live healthier and more active lives, a significant number of retirees become restless months, even years after leaving their adult life jobs. A large number of seniors are looking for activities that permit interaction, use of their skills and expertise, with the added bonus of some extra cash. A portion of the book proceeds will be donated to the Arthritis Foundation, an agency increasing the awareness of what sometimes can be a very debilitating disease for seniors. Making Money Online For Retirees

Saturday, August 1st, 2009
Graham Dearing asked:

Making money online is the dream of an awful lot of people especially in these times of recession and it is not, despite all the hype to the contrary, easy.

It is even harder for silverbirds and people who have retired on fixed incomes who are seeing everything rising in cost while their income remains the same but losing its buying power on a daily basis. Believe me I know I am experiencing it myself

.

Please bear in mind if you are looking for a get rich making money scheme online or some quick fix to work at home, you will not find it here nor will you find one on the internet.

You will see many screaming headlines proclaiming to make you a millionaire overnight.

Take it from me they don’t work and Yes I have tried them myself to my disgust and to the detriment of my pocketbook.

If, however you must go take a look be my guest go ahead and waste your money then come back here and do some work for a few months and start to move towards your dream.

So how hard is it really?

Well, when I first started out it seemed a daunting task. So it turned out but, it is doable with the right mindset.

Make no mistake it does involve a lot of work to do it properly but, the end result is a business, I will repeat that word a business, that will give you an income for life that you can currently only dream of.

Understand that the internet is populated by all sorts of people including retirees.

After all to be retired does not mean we have given up on our dreams or aspirations it is not pleasant trying to subsist on social security or pension payments.

Now, before anybody tells me I should go get a job I will answer that if it were not for the fact that I am penalised for so doing I would tomorrow gladly.

However, for me personally to go to work would mean to replace my meagre pension I would need to earn in excess of £400 a week to replace all the benefits.

Unfortunately the bottom line is that I cannot buy groceries with rent payments and no local taxes.

It has to be remembered that every retiree has during their working life made their contributions to the local and national economy. Also they have like me made contributions from their earnings on a weekly or monthly basis to ensure they had a pension. So, therefore not only have they earned their pensions, they have paid for them with their weekly contributions during their working life

There is an awful lot of information available for free on the internet. The problem is finding it can be time consuming and in the end you may not find what you want but, you will certainly find a lot of screaming sales pages trying to attract your attention and your cash.

You will by now no doubt have heard of Web2.0. If you have not it merely means that the users of the Internet have in effect taken over. Forums, message boards, membership sites, are all forms of Web 2.0.

Basically it means you can source information through various different sources and you can get user experience information before purchasing anything. This is by far a better way of finding your information.
